    Sources & comparison notes

    Official documentation reviewed on 19 October 2026. Different product models are described as they are: tasks, steps and checklist items are not interchangeable.

    1. PlanTree’s unlimited features. Unlimited lists, tasks and nesting, and free Calendar / Day Views reflect the product owner’s clarification. The tool catalog establishes supported operations, colors, emoji, priorities and scheduling; it does not independently prove every Android limit. These promises still need a public PlanTree help reference.
    2. TickTick nesting. An official 2020 article describes five levels including the parent. The current help reviewed does not confirm a numerical depth limit, so the cell remains unconfirmed. The 19 / 199 Free / Premium limits concern checklist items, not subtask depth. Read the historical article
    3. Unconfirmed is not unavailable. Missing documentation does not prove a feature is absent or unlimited. This applies especially to Microsoft / Google MCP, the TickTick MCP access tier and Any.do personal-list customization.
    4. Todoist’s 700 reminders. This is a total limit, not a per-task allowance. In Pro, automatic and custom reminders share the same total.
    5. PlanTree in the browser. The free web editor supports the task tree, text edits and completion, with Calendar viewing. A connected selected phone is required. A full schedule editor is not currently available in the browser.
    6. PlanTree’s free MCP scope. Read tasks and history, create tasks and delete tasks in implicit Main. The listId argument must be omitted; explicitly selecting any list, even Main, requires paid access. Other task operations are paid. The service tool get_permissions is also free.

    Cloud storage does not mean offline use is unavailable. PlanTree can transmit requested task data to your chosen AI service; its server does not store the task database. Account and service records are separate.
